Orchestral Works

Several of Gyöngyösi’s orchestral works have a specific program.
Among them, the I. SYMPHONY, which is a dramatized story about the passing and rebirth of love, stands out in size and concept: in the IV. Movement a singing soloist and choir appear (following the Beethoven traditions), and perform musical adaptations of poems by Jenő Dsida, Attila József, and János Pilinszky, among others.
Written for the Budapest Festival Orchestra, III. SYMPHONY bears the adjective “Birth”, and symbolically follows the path of the fetus from conception to birth.
IV. SYMPHONY (“On the Chariot of Illés”), a piece composed for the Hungarian rock legend, Levente Szörényi’s 70th birthday, is an interesting attempt to transform the well-known melodies of the popular beat band into a symphonic work.
