Concertos
Among Gyöngyösi’s concertos, the SINFONIA CONCERTANTE, composed for the Amadinda Percussion Ensemble, is perhaps the most significant in size and tone, in which the II. Mvt commemorates the late Zsolt Erőss, a Transylvanian mountaineer, the first Hungarian climber of Mount Everest.
The FLUTE CONCERTO, written for Gergely Ittzés, showcases exciting features, such as the modern playing techniques of the flute part, and the PIANO CONCERTO’s darker, more atonal tone compared to Gyöngyösi’s basic style. Additionally, the PICCOLO CONCERTO, written for the piccolo artist of the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra may stand out to the listener as a virtuoso, but an especially economical use of this very high-pitched instrument can be observed.
